Light Painting
Below is a selection of my light painting creations. All capturing light and/or the movement of light in long exposure photographs. Links to articles explaining how they were made, the tools used and the inspiration behind them can be found by clicking the buttons for each piece.
Golden Dawn
The promise of the first sunrise of Spring.

Pride
Inspired by Southern Ireland's gay marriage laws, and two women on a news report saying they were now able to walk down the street holding hands without shame.

Pain Management
A 70 second long exposure photograph using 4 types of light (EL Wire, RGB Panel Lighting, UV and fibre optic brushes).
Being disabled and going through major waves of pain while my county's pain clinic has just closed is the back story to this piece.

Upcycled
Take one cracked mannequin, sold on Facebook for £5.
Reimagine, repair and respray. Add a little care. See beyond the cracks to the potential underneath. If only people were treated the same.

Light Spirographs
Pendulum magic. Swinging the RGB Critter torch over the 7Artisan 10mm lens.
Flashdance
Light illusion using strobed light through a black fibre optic brush.

Prometheus
Symmetry, and the making of a personal god.

Kinetic and Pendulum Light Bagels
Colour changing torches suspended over the camera and swung.
Lens Ball Creations
Glass balls, acrylic sheets and a little magic.
Neural Pathways
The flow of data into consciousness.

Light Lovers
Refracting light in glass figurines. Using the RGB Critter torch and modular lumi sabres made by Antsonamelon.
Spellfyre
When Aes Sedai came to stay, we made and captured spell fire.

Coanwood Cows
Take one cheap plastic cow skull and light with torch lit fibre optic brushes and intensified red light through a crystal prism pen for that red fire glow.
Inspiration comes from the druids in the old Slaine comics. If they could summon spirits, what would they look like?

Kasai shūri
Fire Repair... inspired by Kintsugi, the art of Japanese pottery repair.

Sanctum Regnum
Jelly Baby satanic summoning.
Years ago a friend at a charity (Rebecca KK) sent me a photo of a circle of jelly babies on her desk, with the title "Conspiracy." Years later I sent this back. Made with micro snoots on gelled torches to make the demonic jelly glow, and home made double strand fibre optics adding the spell fire.

Ultra Violet Photography
Don't miss my ultra violet photography.
