I'd moved at the beginning of April 2020. From a cold and mouldy stone house to a wooden lodge with beautiful views. The move had been hellish. House clearance people pulled out, removal men cancelled, all down to lockdown restrictions. Had it not been for rescue by friends and their van, it all would have fallen through.
So there I was. In a home with little furniture (sofas and bed deliveries were delayed for 6 weeks) with just a hammock stand and a fold up camp chair... but it was heaven. April's weather was glorious and there was no-one around. Deer wandered past. The peace and tranquillity was almost deafening... and I sat on my deck in the mornings at dawn, watching sunrises and feeling the first heat of the morning sun. A new dawn, a fresh start, and peace.
'Golden Dawn' celebrates those moments.

I dressed a mannequin head in a poncho, rim lit it with an RGB panel light at 1% and light painted the lines on the clothing and face with a home made fibre optic brush. The brush was lit by a Nitecore MT22c torch using yellow gels. The fibre brush attached to the torch using a Light Painting Paradise torch adapter.
Camera settings... a 34 second exposure. Aperture at F6.3 and at ISO 200.
